we're going to stay in san jose because the san jose school district is settling three lawsuits for abuse that took place more than 20 years ago. former sierra middle school teacher ronald gardner was recently convicted for sexually assaulting students in the early 2000. he's serving a 22 year prison sentence. the san jose berryessa union school district was accused of ignoring blatant red flags about his behavior. the district will settle the lawsuits for more than $10 million as well. firefighters spent the day mopping up after a big fire raced through a building in downtown concord. it happened at around 1030 last night in a vacant three story building near sunset avenue. you can see just how big that fire was. when firefighters arrived. they immediately searched that building. didn't find anyone. they did get the fire under control in about three hours. thankfully, no one was hurt. the roads around that fire are still closed right now because of the cleanup. the biggest challenge for this one is, of course, the safety of all that we're fighting. this fire. we had external collapses, w

look at this in the south bay. 71 here in los gatos, 73 san jose over to oakland. it's 69 with that bay breeze, but then out towards walnut creek, 75, peninsula chilly, 58.5 moon bay and down to palo alto, woodside, los altos. atherton will be in the low 70s up to san francisco, 64 in the outer sunset, 65 in downtown and for the north bay, 74 here in sonoma. so dry tomorrow, dry through the workweek. and then we are looking at that chance of rain potentially by this weekend. now here's the thing with this storm, if the storm track moves just a little bit more to the south, we'd get in on some higher totals. if it lifts more off to the north, we'd see barely nothing. so the way that i'm seeing it right now, we will get in on some spotty rain. maybe be some heavier pockets by saturday. temperatures much colder in the 60s, so we'll have more on that as we get closer. i also wanted to get this in here real quickly. if you're doing any traveling. des moines, omaha, kansas city, thunderstorms, hail, strong winds, and tornadoes will be possible tomorrow and some thunderst

here's the ten-day temperature trend for san jose. you see the spike in temperatures the latter half of the workweek and the big drop friday to saturday and the big cooldown is associated with a decent chance of rain, not something we usually associate with early mayweather. are it's pretty far down the line, about a 50/50 chance, could go either way. i couldn't cancel any outdoor plans, but be flexible with them, especially on saturday. if it does rain, hopefully it would wash some pollen out of the atmosphere. it would be less than a 0.1-inch of rain to up to a half inch for parts of the north bay and higher elevations of the santa cruz mountains. because things could still go either way, don't cancel anything. we'll keep you updated. here's the seven-day forecast. we'll focus on the warmer weather the next few days. inland high temperatures will be in the upper 70s and low 80s and the big drop that kicks in for the weekend. even if the rain avoids us, the colder temperatures aren't. we'll be in the upper 60s by saturday and sunday
